SwansAid winners announced

19th January

The Swans Community Trust has announced the latest SwansAid winners.
The winning organisations applied for funding through the club's grant-giving pot - SwansAid - earlier in the season, and they will receive their grants this month.
From funding gymnastics and swimming sessions for children with Down's Syndrome to providing racing bikes for less privileged children, all of the grants will be used for great community projects that support young or disabled people.
"The Trust is delighted to announce that another group of organisations have been awarded SwansAid funding," said Helen Elton, the Trust's Assistant Head of Community.
"Securing funding are Hands Up For Downs, Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids' Club, Hafal and Gower Riders Cycling Club, who each have very different plans for the grants.
"The successful organisations support children, young people or disabled people to be more active. These grants will be put towards a variety of uses including purchasing new equipment, funding new projects and sessions or to finance training."
Now in its third year, SwansAid has distributed over £100,000 to a variety of charities and community organisations across South West Wales.
Additionally, a number of local youth teams will receive sports kits for next season. These include Llanelli Lions, Ynystawe U12s, Penyfan United U12s, SA1 Stars, Drefach Juniors U12s, Wellfield Athletic AFC and Peniel FC.
