Swansea City AFC Foundation host participation tournament at Pure Football

Swansea City AFC Foundation welcomed over 200 pupils from the Premier League Primary Stars project to take part in a tournament hosted at Pure Football Swansea.

The five-a-side tournament brought together 18 schools from Carmarthen to Port Talbot. 

The schools were split into three groups with all teams facing each other in a fun competition which ran throughout the day - there was even a 'Player of the Day' award from each of the pitches.

The Foundation's education manager Curtis Grant was delighted with the turn out for the event and is excited to see the events continue to grow in the future.

“It’s always great to see the wide range of events we put on being well received,” said Grant.

"It’s really pleasing to see so many year three and four pupils taking part with big smiles on their faces

“We are looking forward to further extending these opportunities in the new academic year, ranging from stadium days to tournaments and individual school sessions.”
