Swansea City confirm home friendly with Villarreal at the Liberty

20th June

Swansea City will complete their preparations for the 2014-15 Barclays Premier League campaign with a home friendly against Villarreal on Saturday, August 9 (3pm).
The fixture with the La Liga side will provide the final warm-up for Garry Monk's side, with it being the only home match of the Swans' pre-season fixtures.
Last season, Villarreal finished sixth in the Spanish top flight and have qualified for the Europa League Play-Off round.
Known as the Yellow Submarine, Villarreal will join the likes of Levante and Real Betis as the Spanish clubs to have provided pre-season opposition for the Swans at the Liberty.
The Swans kick off their Premier League preparations with a two-week trip to America which includes fixtures with Mexican Premier League side Chivas Guadalajara in Milwaukee and against Minnesota United in Blaine.
Back in the UK, the Swans then visit Plymouth Argyle (July 27), Exeter City (July 29), Bournemouth (Aug 1) and Reading (Aug 2) before the home friendly with Villarreal.
