Swansea City defender Alan Tate joins Crewe on loan

24th September

Swansea City defender Alan Tate has joined League One club Crewe on a 93-day loan deal.
The 32-year-old, who spent time on loan at Yeovil Town and Aberdeen last season, will immediately link up with Steve Davis' side as they prepare for Saturday's home fixture with Colchester United.
Tate, who has featured in all four divisions for the Swans, has made 340 appearances for the club since initially joining on loan from Manchester United in 2002 and was inducted into the club's Wall of Fame last weekend.
The centre-back, whose loan deal runs until Christmas Eve, will look to help lift Crewe off the bottom of League One.
Tate joins a Crewe side that has recently clinched the loan signing of Febian Brandy, who spent two temporary stints at the Liberty in 2008.
