Swansea City defender Jordi Amat hoping to return "stronger, quicker and faster"

17th July

Jordi Amat is aiming to return "stronger, quicker and fitter" as he gets back up to speed at Swansea City following a foot injury.
Amat missed large parts of a frustrating 2014-15 campaign for the Spanish centre-back, who made just 12 appearances in all competitions.
The season had started on a positive note, with the 23-year-old starting the first three victories over Manchester United, Burnley and West Brom before a knee injury sustained in the next match against Chelsea ruled him out of action for a few months.
His return came in the FA Cup win over Tranmere, but another injury - this time a stress fracture in his foot - in April ended his participation in the Swans' record-breaking campaign.
As determined as ever, Amat is training hard during the club's tour in Grassau, Germany as he looks to rejoin his team-mates in group sessions.

"I feel good. There's no pain and I'm training very hard. Now I'm looking forward to joining the group in training," he said.
"I'm training every day - running in straight lines at the moment - but I'm on the way to a full recovery.
"I'm trying to be stronger and come back quicker and fitter.
"All the staff are doing a really good job because they are helping me and pushing me to do more.
"The doctors and physios are telling me it's going well, while the data in the GPS system is looking good too.
"I'm hoping to train with the group next week. Every session I do I am one step closer to a full return."

Amat missed Wednesday night's tour opener against Borussia Monchengladbach as Matt Grimes scored his first Swans goal since arriving from Exeter City.
On Saturday, Garry Monk's side face 1860 Munich (7pm local time; 6pm BST) at the Grunwalder Stadion in the final game of the tour.
Swans fans can purchase tickets via the 1860 Munich website www.tsv1860.de or reserve them via email to Tickets@tsv1860.de
