Swansea City head coach Paul Clement named Manager of the Month

10th February

Swansea City head coach Paul Clement has been named January's Barclays Manager of the Month.
The Swans picked up nine points in January following his appointment, with wins over Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Southampton moving the team out of the relegation zone.
Clement beat competition from Antonio Conte (Chelsea), Ronald Koeman (Everton), Mark Hughes (Stoke City) and Mauricio Pochettino (Tottenham Hotspur) to land the award.

"It is a real honour to receive the manager of the month award, because there are a lot of very good managers and very good teams in this league," said Clement.
"I would like to accept the award on behalf of the club - the staff and the players who have done a really good job since I have been here.
"We have picked up some good results and there's a real positivity around the group.
"That's come from the work we have done on the training pitch, plus what goes on in the gym and in the video room.
"We are moving in the right direction, but the big thing now is that we have to keep things going."
It is the second award of the day for the Swans after under-23s striker Oli McBurnie was named the Premier League 2 Player of the Month.
