Swansea City Jack Cork pleased with tour test

19th July

Jack Cork believes the Swans got everything they wanted out of Saturday's 2-1 victory over 1860 Munich at the Grunwalder Stadion.
The midfielder got the Swans off to a flyer with a fierce volley early on before Bafe Gomis wrapped things up to end a tough German training camp on a winning note.

"Although our play at times wasn't the best, we did most of the things we started out to do,'' explained Cork.
"We started the first 15 minutes brightly; kept the ball well and got the opening goal. It dropped to me perfectly and I couldn't do anything but hit it first time. I'm happy with the goal.
"They changed their game a little bit, put more pressure on us and made it difficult. They ended up playing very well, but we still got out of it what we wanted - we ended up winning the game.
"You'll always have a test in pre-season against teams in this heat and humidity. Training has been very hard all week. We had a hard session yesterday and our game isn't going to be perfect at this stage of the season.
"But as long as we keep on doing what the manager wants us to do and stick to the plan, it will benefit us during the season.
"We've played two very good teams and they've put us through good tests. We've got some tough teams coming up at the start of the season, like Chelsea on the opening day, so we need to be fit and ready for it.
"Games like this will test us and get us ready for it.''
Having joined the club in January from Southampton, Cork has been a huge hit orchestrating play in the middle of the park.
"This is my first pre-season with Swansea," added Cork. "It's been hard, but I've really enjoyed it.
"It's easy with this group of lads because they work hard all the time and are good off the pitch as well. It's a good group to be involved with."
