Swansea City Ladies

8th December

Swansea City Ladies have progressed to the semi-finals of the Welsh Premier Women's League Cup following a 3-0 victory at Llandudno Ladies.
The Swans, who are the current holders of the WPWL Cup, controlled the first half with several attempts on goal but could not convert any chances with the score goalless at the break.
In the second half, Swans Ladies produced an impressive performance to create a host of chances.
Jodie Passmore broke the deadlock five minutes after the restart as she converted Sophie Hancocks' cross with a volleyed effort from the edge of the box.
Just four minutes later the Swans doubled their lead as striker Stacey John netted her 12th of the season.
Midfielder Hancocks sealed the win for Ian Owen's side on the hour mark with a volley from a narrow angle.
After the match, Hancocks expressed her delight at their fifth consecutive win in all competitions.
"It's always a great feeling to get on the scoresheet and to get one of the goals that has secured us a place in the next round makes it even better," she said.
"I thought a 3-0 win was a great reflection of our performance. It's not easy to play after a long bus journey but we came together and played really well as a team.
"It would be great if we can make it to the final and retain the cup from last season, but we will take it one game at a time and prepare well so we are ready for whoever we get in the next tie."

SWANS LADIES: Courtney Young, Kelly Newcombe, Alicia Powe (capt), Lowri Ridings, Ria Hughes, Sarah Adams, Emma Beynon (Courtney Harries, 67), Sophie Hancocks, Katie Davies (Gemma Border, 82), Jodie Passmore (Katy Hosford, 50), Stacey John.
