Swansea City Ladies Briton Ferry

19th September

Swansea City Ladies clinched their second victory of the 2016-17 campaign with a thrilling 8-0 victory over Briton Ferry Llansawel Ladies at Llandarcy Academy of Sport on Sunday.
The Swans took the lead early on when Lowri Ridings headed home Jodie Passmore's cross at the far post.
Stacey John doubled the Swans' lead after ten minutes with a half-volley which couldn't be stopped by Briton Ferry's keeper.
The Swans' lead was strengthened just three minutes later when John netted with a sharp shot from inside the box.
Courtney Young in the Swans goal comfortably kept out a chance from Briton Ferry before Beynon scored her second of the match with an outstanding strike in the 22nd minute.
Katy Hosford then made it 5-0 before the break with a superb effort from outside the box.
The Swans continued their dominance in the second half with John netting from close range to clinch her hat-trick before skipper Alicia Powe scored her first goal of the season in the 54th minute.
Charlotte Phillips, making her Swans debut, had an excellent chance to score in the 65th minute only for her effort to just miss the target.
But Courteney Thomas slotted home with a low drive in the 86th minute to seal an impressive 8-0 victory for the hosts.
After the match, John, who took her tally to four goals in two matches, said: "I feel that we played well together as a team. We showed our passing ability and I feel like we played them off the park and showed them exactly what we are intending to do in this league. I feel we really did shine.
"I'm obviously chuffed to get a hat-trick, it's awesome to score for the team, but regardless of how many, it was a team effort."
