Swansea City Ladies Port Talbot Town

13th September

Swansea City Ladies recorded their first victory of the 2016-17 season with a convincing 2-0 win over Port Talbot Town Ladies at the GenQuip Stadium on Sunday.
The Swans started well with a great chance for Courteney Thomas in the sixth minute as she forced Port Talbot's keeper into action.
Throughout the first half the Swans continued to dominate possession while Katy Hosford narrowly missed the target.
Swansea continued to press with a volley from Thomas while Sophie Hancocks headed over the bar.
Skipper Alicia Powe also went close to breaking the deadlock, but the visitors didn't have to wait much longer as Stacey John headed home in the 37th minute.
Two minutes into the second half, Swansea's Ria Hughes extended the lead with an outstanding 40-yard strike into the top corner.
Hancocks went close to extending the Swans' lead even further, but her shot was comfortably saved by Port Talbot's keeper.
Two goals proved to be enough, though, as the Swans sealed their first victory of the campaign.
