Swansea City Ladies Reserves West Wales Women and Girls League

4th May

Swansea City Ladies Reserves claimed the West Wales Women and Girls League title thanks to a 2-2 draw against second place Briton Ferry Llansawel Ladies on Sunday.
Emily Oakes gave the Swans the lead early in the first half when she converted a corner with a fine header into the bottom corner.
Continued pressure in the first half saw Oakes net her second with a superb free-kick, but the home side managed to claw a goal back through Becca Rees.
Swans Ladies battled hard after the interval to try and secure the title win, with Stacey John seeing her effort from the edge of the box scurried away by the Briton Ferry goalkeeper.
Briton Ferry were awarded a penalty minutes before the full time whistle after their striker was brought down in the box. Lucy Powell then stepped up to level the score.
But a draw proved to be enough as Swansea City Ladies Reserves claimed the trophy after a 16-game unbeaten run throughout the season.
