Swansea City Ladies Rhyl Stacey John

28th March

Swansea City Ladies extended their unbeaten league record to 12 consecutive matches following a 4-0 victory over Rhyl Ladies at Llandarcy Academy of Sport on Sunday.
The three points proved vital as Swans Ladies lead Cardiff Met in the Welsh Premier Women's League by nine points with two games remaining. Cardiff Met, however, still have four games to play.
Ian Owen's side dominated possession throughout the first half as they searched for the opener.
Striker Stacey John gave the Swans the lead just before the half-hour mark as she stabbed home a well-taken finish.
The Swans could have doubled their lead as Sarah Adams' 25-yard volley hit the crossbar before Kirsty O'Donnell rattled the woodwork from a tight angle.

John took her tally to 20 goals across all competitions as she latched onto Jodie Passmore's through ball to slot home her second of the match after 50 minutes.
Midfielder Emma Beynon extended the Swans' lead to 3-0 in the 70th minute before the victory was sealed when striker Katie Davies headed home Adams' corner.
After the match goalscorer John expressed her delight with her brace.
"It always feels good to get on the score sheet to help the team get the win," she said.
"The atmosphere among everyone at the minute is great. As a team we know what we have to do and of course winning the league has been our main goal all season. Each week our main focus is to come away with all three points from every game."

SWANS LADIES: Courtney Young, Stacey Webber (Hannah Thomas, 70), Alicia Powe, Kelly Newcombe, Ria Hughes, Sarah Adams, Emma Beynon, Sophie Hancocks, Katie Davies (Kirsty O'Donnell, 83), Jodie Passmore, Stacey John.
