Swansea City Ladies have completed the signing of defender Lailah Muscat.

The defender joins the Swans having most recently played for FF Lugano in the Nationalliga A in Switzerland.

Muscat is excited for a new challenge with the Swans and wants to enjoy her time on the field once again.

“I’m buzzing to be here, I’m excited to get started with the team and get going, all the girls have been lovely and the coaching staff have been really welcoming, so I’m excited,” said Muscat.

“Last season I was playing for FF Lugano in the Swiss league which was a great experience, I learned a lot out there, with a few highs and lows.

“I knew that the next team I signed for I just wanted to enjoy playing football again, I’ve had experience playing in the US and playing for Cardiff City Ladies in the English leagues so this will be a new adventure.”

Muscat joins a side that has a number of familiar faces for her, but non more so than her cousin Monet Legall, who joined the Swans in the summer.

The defender wants to have a real connection with her new team-mates as she aims to help the Swans successfully defend their Genero Adran Premier title.

“I’d say that I’m a pretty calm and collected player, I tend to bring my personality onto the pitch and I’ve always been that way, I like to control the game as best as I can and I like connecting with other players on the pitch,” said the defender.

“Monet Legall is actually my cousin so there’s a little family connection there which is great, and I’ve played with and against a couple of girls on the team before so there are a lot of friendly faces.

“Coming in and knowing that we all have our eyes on the title makes it even better, we’ve got to work hard for that and it adds to the drive and motivation.”
