Eder featured for the full 90 minutes as Lille kept their Europa League hopes alive with a 1-0 win over Toulouse.
The Portuguese international, who has two goals in his six appearances for the Ligue 1 side, helped Lille rise to ninth in the table - six points off fourth-placed Lyon.
Staying in France, Franck Tabanou was an unused sub as St Etienne picked up their first victory in six league games as they beat Montpellier 3-0.
In the Championship, Matt Grimes made his eighth appearance after coming on in the 86th minute as Blackburn Rovers snatched a late win at Brentford. That victory moves Blackburn up to 14th in the Championship.
The rest of the action came in League Two, with Oliver McBurnie featuring off the bench as Bristol Rovers beat Newport County 4-1.
The 19-year-old was introduced in the 58th minute as he featured against a Newport side for whom he actually scored a debut hat-trick during a loan spell at Rodney Parade earlier this season.
That win means Bristol Rovers are now in the final automatic promotion spot in League Two, with nine games remaining.
Connor Roberts, making his 46th appearance of the campaign, played the full game as Yeovil's four-match winning streak came to a crashing halt at Cambridge following a 3-0 defeat.
Darren Way's side remain 11 points clear of the dropzone, however, with nine matches left.
Daniel Alfei also started as Mansfield were held 1-1 by fellow promotion-hopefuls Portsmouth.
The full-back conceded a first-half penalty, which was saved, before Mansfield took the lead. Pompey, however, shared the spoils after levelling before the break via an own goal.
Ryan Hedges was an unused substitute as Stevenage lost their fifth game in a row following a 3-2 home loss to Northampton Town.
The defeat leaves Stevenage seven points above second-bottom York City.
In Scotland, Alex Samuel came off the bench in the latter stages of Morton's convincing 4-1 win over bottom side Alloa.
That was the 20-year-old's 24th appearance for the Scottish Championship side this season.
Gerhard Tremmel was an unused substitute for Werder Bremen, who were held 1-1 by Mainz in the Bundesliga, while Nathan Dyer was not involved in Leicester City's 1-0 win at Crystal Palace.
