Bafe Gomis scored three goals in two games for Marseille last week as they experienced mixed fortunes.
Gomis netted twice on Sunday night as Marseille went down 3-2 at Nantes. With the visitors trailing 2-0 at half-time, Gomis sidefooted a cross into the net via the far post to reduce the deficit.
Nantes retained their two-goal advantage a minute later, but Gomis headed home another cross just past the hour mark to give Marseille hope.
The striker, who took his tally to 17 goals in 26 appearances for Marseille, was denied the opportunity to claim a hat-trick as he was replaced in the 66th minute.
Earlier in the week, he scored the opening goal in a 2-0 home win over Guingamp, with former West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet scoring the other.

In the Championship, Leeds United were dealt a shock 2-0 home defeat by Cardiff City.
Kyle Bartley played the full game for Garry Monk's side while Modou Barrow was an unused substitute.
The defeat means Leeds sit ten points behind Brighton, who sit second in the table.
In League Two, Josh Vickers made his 21st appearance of the season for Barnet in their 2-1 defeat at Colchester.
The Bees' winless streak was extended to five games, while they now sit five points off a play-off spot.
Franck Tabanou won't be in action until tonight as Granada travel to Eibar knowing a point would send them out of the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, Marvin Emnes (Blackburn Rovers), Matt Grimes (Leeds), Alex Bray (Rotherham), Josh Sheehan, Alex Samuel (both Newport), Owain Jones (Yeovil) and Tom Holland (Fylde) didn't feature for their loan clubs.
