Swansea City midfielder Jack Cork is loving Liberty life

25th June

Jack Cork believes familiar surroundings helped him make a seamless transition to life in South Wales following his January arrival from Southamption.
The 25-year-old made an instant impact at Swansea City, going on to play in every single Swans game after making his debut against Sunderland in February.
A composed and elegant presence at the base of Swansea's midfield, Cork played a crucial role in the club's record-breaking Barclays Premier League season.
Speaking in the Swans' seasonal review DVD Record Breakers: History Makers, Cork feels that prior experience of the Swansea area helped make his move from Southampton a seamless transition.
"My dad obviously told me a lot of good things about the club and the area," said Cork, whose father Alan managed the Swans for a period in 1997-98. "He actually used to live around the corner from where I live now.
"I used to come down to the beach with my brother when my dad lived in Langland Bay, and now I'm living here. It obviously helps having some experience of the area.
"It's a lovely place, and my partner and baby are really happy here. We've bought a house and we love the Gower area and Mumbles too.
"It's ideal for my family and our dog. I take the dog for long walks and my little boy loves the sea and sand. It's great to have it on your doorstep."

The English midfielder also hailed the impact of Garry Monk on his impressive start to life in SA1.
"As a manager he's really helped me with advice," added Cork. "That's great for me as I've had managers in the past who just leave you to it.
"I have huge respect for what he did as a player for Swansea and now I have the same amount of respect for him as a manager.
"It's his first job and a lot of people were watching him, but he's proved a lot of people wrong with the season we've had.
"He's got a lot of knowledge of the game while he would have taken a lot from playing under the managers that he did at Swansea.
"He's done so much here as a player, and the fans massively respect him for that. He's got that special bond with the club."
