Swansea City midfielder Matt Grimes has earned a first call-up for England Under-21s.
The 20-year-old, currently on loan at Championship side Blackburn Rovers, has been included in Gareth Southgate's squad for the European Championship Qualifier against Switzerland in Thun next week.
Grimes has made four appearances for the Swans this season - including a first Barclays Premier League start - before his loan switch to Ewood Park.
He is among three new faces in the squad, with Southgate having been impressed with the former Exeter talent during his spell as England U20s captain.
"He has performed really well with our U20s last year, and over the last couple of months he has been in that group," said Southgate. "We've very much used that group as a bridge to our squad.
"We wanted them to know that we are watching them very closely and that, although they might not have been with the U21s, because we wanted them to get match-time, there is an opportunity to progress."
England defeated Switzerland 3-1 last time out in Brighton, with the Three Lions sitting three points clear at the top of Group 9.
