Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony on target in Ivory Coast's opening World Cup win

15th June

Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony inspired Ivory Coast to a comeback victory over Japan in their opening World Cup group tie this morning (Sunday).
The Swans' club-record signing headed home Serge Aurier's cross to put his side on level terms after Keisuke Honda had given Japan a first-half lead.
But a second goal in as many minutes for Sabri Lamouchi's team earned Ivory Coast three crucial points in Group C, with former Arsenal striker Gervinho also heading past keeper Eiji Kawashima.
The Ivory Coast's next game is against Colombia on Thursday (5pm BST).
