Swansea City Under-18s Chris Llewellyn

4th November

Coach Chris Llewellyn has encouraged Swansea City Under-18s to build on their positive home form when they take on Southampton at Landore on Saturday (11am).
The young Swans have only lost once in Premier League South at home this season.
And despite narrow defeats at West Ham and Reading in recent weeks, where the young Swans lost 3-2 in both games to late goals, Llewellyn insists they must stay positive.
"We were comfortable for large spells against Reading, but individual errors cost us late in the game," he said.
"That is the standard at this level and we have to learn from these mistakes moving forward.
"No doubt we have made massive strides compared to this point last season and we are continuing to challenge teams, so we must stay positive.
"We still have a lot of work to do to turn draws and defeats into wins but we have a good record at home this season and must look to continue that form.
"Southampton have always been an academy who set the bar high. A number of their products have progressed to the first team including Wales international Gareth Bale.
"That is a standard everyone at this academy should aspire to on and off the pitch.
"We had good results against them last season, but that is last season. Southampton will be a strong test on Saturday.
"If we can continue our good home performances and continue to build on our game I feel we will play with more freedom and less pressure on ourselves, but we must keep fighting and working hard to earn that next win."
