Swansea City Under-19s Newport County FAW Youth Cup

9th March

Swansea City Under-19s face Newport County in the semi-final of the FAW Youth Cup at Port Talbot's Genquip Stadium on Wednesday (7.30pm).
The Swans lifted the trophy for a sixth successive year last April after beating the Bluebirds 3-1 at the Cardiff City Stadium.
The defending champions have beaten Llanidloes Town and Cardiff City in the previous rounds of the competition this season before an 11-1 win over Welsh Premier side Llandudno in the quarter-final last month.
And coach Chris Llewellyn insists the young Swans are keen to maintain their current form.
"We are confident but we must give Newport the respect they deserve," he said. "Anything can happen at this stage of the competition.
"The last few months have been very positive for us. The group has learned a lot throughout the course of the season and we want that to continue.
"Winning this competition is one of the main objectives of the season, so we are focused and ready for the challenge."
Four first-year pro players have been included in the squad to face The Exiles on Wednesday, including frontmen Kyle Copp and Owain Jones.
"We have a strong team to pick from," added Llewellyn. "A number of first-year pros have joined us from the Under-21s.
"All those players have asked to be involved - they are just as keen to ensure we continue our record in the competition as the younger players are.
"Having those players involved will only add experience and help our scholars develop faster."
