Swansea City Under-23s Botti Bia Bi

26th August

Striker Botti Biabi expressed his delight at netting his first goal of the 2016-17 season as Swansea City Under-23s beat West Ham 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium on Friday night.

The Scottish striker netted the development squad's second after Owain Jones' close-range strike gave the young Swans the lead in the 57th minute.

The result sees the development squad record their third Premier League 2 victory in a row, with the side top of Division 2.

"It's great to get my first goal of the season and help the side stay unbeaten tonight," said the 20-year-old, who joined from Falkirk in August 2015.

"We know we can't be complacent. We have to keep pushing and giving 100 per cent each time and take each game as it comes."

Of his goal, he added: "Alex Bray won the ball and played me through on goal. I knew I had time and needed to make the most of it. I just stayed cool and took my chance before slotting it home.

"That goal will give me confidence going forward. Confidence in the team is sky high at the minute - everyone is buzzing to have started the season so well.

"I was in and out of the team last season, so it is great to have been involved in the last three game. I know I need to keep working hard to create and score more chances.

"As a striker you just want to get goals, so I am really pleased to get my season off and running tonight."
