Swansea City under-23s Cameron Toshack

19th December

Coach Cameron Toshack expressed his delight as Swansea City Under-23s claimed their 11th league win of the season with a 3-2 win over Middlesbrough on Monday.
George Byers fifth goal of the season gave the young Swans a half-time lead before a 70th minute equaliser from Middlesbrough winger Junior Mondal.
Two pinpoint crosses from Nathan Dyer played a big role in helping the Swans extend their lead as Oli McBurnie and Daniel James found the net.
A late consolation from Callum Cooke could not prevent the development side from stretching their winning run in Premier League 2 (Division 2) to seven games.
"We are very pleased with the team's performance," Toshack said. "We knew Middlesbrough would be a stern test and a five-goal thriller proved that, but we are pleased with the win.

"We did not start the game very well but we grew into it and when we started moving the ball and keeping possession we look a threat against any team.
"We showed real character by hitting back straight away after they equalised - that took a lot of their momentum away. To get that goal hurt them a little bit.
"Their late goal made things a bit nervous at the end but we can't take anything away from our team.
"It was great to have the experience of Nathan Dyer once again tonight. He helped our victory with two superb deliveries which Oli McBurnie and Daniel James finished superbly tonight.
"The team have up their standards from last year and are looking in good shape for 2017."
