Swansea City Under-23s Falkirk pre season

28th July

Swansea City Under-23s took their second pre-season victory in three days as Keston Davies' header earned the young side a 1-0 win over Scottish Championship side Falkirk on Thursday evening.
The young Swans controlled most of the possession in the first half as both sides struggled to create clear chances.
New signing Mark Birighitti ensured the scores stayed level in the first five minutes, with the Australian international comfortably saving Falkirk winger Myles Hippolyte's shot from the edge of the area.
The 25-year-old, who joined the development squad this week following Josh Vickers' loan move to Barnet, also kept out a number of dangerous crosses from Liam Henderson on the right flank.
The Swans created attacking chances, with the best just before the half-hour mark as Owain Jones found winger Daniel James inside the area only for the winger's shot to be denied by keeper Lewis McMinn.
Swans frontman Jordan Garrick fired his effort over the bar before former Bairns midfielder Ryan Blair almost scored against his old club when he fired a dangerous long-range effort just wide.

Birighitti was on hand to keep the score level minutes after the restart as the keeper kept out an effort from defender Mark Finlayson.
The young Swans rallied and took the lead soon after when captain Davies found space in the area to head home Josh Sheehan's whipped cross off the underside of the bar.
Substitutes Tom Holland and former Falkirk striker Botti Biabi almost made an immediate impact off the bench, with Holland volleying over from just inside the area before Biabi's powerful strike forced a good save from McMinn.
The home side continued to search for an equaliser, with striker Scott Shepherd going closest after 70 minutes when he raced through on goal only to fire his effort into the side netting.
Further Swans efforts fell to Alex Samuel and Alex Bray before midfielder Blair saw his long-range strike saved by the gloves of McMinn.
