Swansea City Under-23s Owain Jones

25th August

Frontman Owain Jones is looking to add to his goal tally when Swansea City U23s host West Ham at the Liberty on Friday night (7pm).
The 19-year-old was on the scoresheet as the U23s won 4-3 at Wolves in their Premier League Two clash on Monday.
Jones netted the Swans' third goal before Daniel James' winner secured all three points at Telford's New Bucks Head Stadium.
The Wales Under-21 international, who scored eight goals for the development side last season, is keen to score more this campaign.
"It is always nice to score," he said. "I did not have the best pre-season in front of goal so I was pleased to get my first against Wolves this week.
"Tom Holland played a great ball into me and I managed to get on the end of it to fire us back into the lead.
"I was a bit unlucky with my fitness last season. I scored eight goals in 13 games but a hamstring and knee injury limited me.
"I hate being on the sideline watching games. Hopefully this campaign will be less interrupted for me and I will stay injury-free to play as many games as possible.
"My aim is to come back stronger and put a goal run together like I did at the end of last season."

The U23s look to extend their unbeaten run in PL2 at the Liberty against the Hammers on Friday.
Jones hailed the squad's fighting spirit to come back against Wolves three times and believes the win will give the side huge confidence.
"The important thing is that we did not give up against Wolves," he added. "We got pegged back twice but showed great character and grit to come away with a win.
"It would have been easy for us to fold after they made it 3-3 but we showed real strength to come back.
"The result gives us confidence heading into our next game against West Ham. We must ensure we take the positive aspects into the match this Friday."

Tickets for the game at the Liberty Stadium are still available priced at £1 (season ticket holders & children U16) and £3 for adults. For full details CLICK HERE.
