Swansea City Under-23s Southampton

The young Swans fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat against the Saints in the competition earlier this season with Tyreke Johnson scoring the only goal at Landore.

A 2-1 victory over Newcastle in January lifted the Swans to second in Group A on four points with three games left to play.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage of the competition in March.

The new format replaces the knockout form of the competition. Last season the Swans lost in extra time against Millwall in the last 32 before West Ham beat Hull in the final.
