Swansea City's Michu completes loan move to Napoli

17th July

Swansea City can confirm that Michu has joined Napoli on a season-long loan with an agreed option to buy.
The 28-year-old completed a medical earlier today and will now link up with Rafa Benitez's side ahead of the new campaign.
Michu arrived at the Liberty Stadium in the summer of 2012 from Rayo Vallecano for £2million, and soon confirmed himself as a big hit with the Jack Army.
After netting twice on his Premier League debut in a 5-0 win over Queens Park Rangers, the Spaniard went on to score 22 goals in all competitions as the Swans finished ninth in the top flight and lifted the Capital One Cup.
He ended the 2012-13 season by scooping four awards at the club's end of the season awards night and signed a new four-year contract in January 2013.
After a fine start to the 2013-14 campaign, which saw him score six goals, Michu was called up the Spain squad for their World Cup qualifier against Belarus in October 2013 but injury saw him play only a handful of games until the end of the season.
Overall, the 28-year-old played 63 games for the Swans, scoring 28 goals.
Napoli finished third in Serie A last season but lifted the Coppa Italia for the fifth time in the club's history, as well as knocking the Swans out of the Europa League in their last 32 tie.
