Adam King made his Crewe debut as Steve Davis' side were held 0-0 by Port Vale in their opening League One fixture.
King, who has joined Crewe on a season-long loan, featured for 86 minutes before being by replaced by Chris Atkinson at the Alexandra Stadium.
The young Swan is next in action when Crewe host Championship side Preston in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday.
Connor Roberts made his first appearance in senior football as Yeovil were edged out in a five-goal thriller with Exeter.
The right-back kicked off his one-month loan with the Glovers by playing for the full 90 minutes in a 3-2 defeat.
Yeovil fell a goal behind when Roberts was adjudged to have pulled back Alex Nicholls in the box and Tom Nichols converted from the spot.
The Glovers found themselves trailing 2-0 at the break, but Paul Sturrock's side launched a superb -second-half fightback and shortly after the hour mark they were back on level terms.
But the drama didn't end there, with Exeter snatching a late winner through debutant Will Hoskins.
Roberts will next be in action when Yeovil host Queens Park Rangers in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.
Finally, Kenji Gorre will hope to make his Ado Den Haag debut on Tuesday when they face defending Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven at the Kyocera Stadion.
