Bafe Gomis netted a hat-trick to send Marseille to within four points of the Europa League spot in Ligue 1 following a 5-1 win over Montpellier.
The striker took his tally to 14 goals in 23 games as the home side moved up to sixth - level on point with Gomis' former club St Etienne.
Gomis opened the scoring in the fourth minute as he latched onto a through ball before holding off his marker and slotting past the keeper.
He doubled Marseille's lead after 19 minutes as he sidefooted home a headed cross from the left flank.
He completed his hat-trick in the 77th minute from close range, with Gomis firing home into an empty net.
Marseille are next in action on Tuesday night when they host Gomis' former club Lyon in the French Cup last 16.

started for Leeds as they were the victim of an FA Cup giantkilling at the hands of non-league Sutton United.
The midfielder played the full 90 minutes as Garry Monk's side went down 1-0 at Borough Sports Ground after Jamie Collins' penalty secured the round's biggest shock.
In League Two, Josh Vickers started in goal for ten-man Barnet as they earned a point at Carlisle.
The keeper made his 19th appearance of the season for the Bees, who sit a point outside the play-offs after their 1-1 draw.
Alex Samuel came off the bench for Newport, who moved to within three points of safety following a 3-1 win over Hartlepool.
The 21-year-old was introduced for the remaining four minutes as he made his second appearance for the Exiles.
Liam Shephard was part of the Yeovil side that was convincingly beaten 3-0 by leaders Doncaster Rovers.
Defeat left Darren Way's side in 16th place with 32 points - seven points above the dropzone.
Frank Tabanou (Granada), Kyle Bartley (Leeds), Josh Sheehan (Newport) and Ryan Hedges (Yeovil) didn't feature for their loan clubs at the weekend.
