Tammy Abraham reckons Swansea City must bring their “A game” this weekend as they look to book a trip to Wembley.

Carlos Carvalhal’s men face Tottenham Hotspur in an Emirates FA Cup quarter-final at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday (12.15pm).

The Swans have reached the last eight of the competition for the first time since 1964 but, if they are to secure a Wembley semi-final, they will have to end a long run of painful results against Tottenham.

The Swans have not beaten the North London heavyweights since a League Cup first leg tie at the Vetch back in 1991 – and even then they were eliminated after a heavy defeat in the White Hart Lane return.

And Abraham concedes that only the best will do as Carvalhal’s side look to upset Spurs.

“There is a chance to do something special in the cup this season but Tottenham are a fantastic team,” the Swans striker said.

“We just have to go out and produce our A game – nothing less than that will do.

“Tottenham won’t come and sit back. They will come all guns blazing and we have to do the same. We have to believe we can do it.

“Tottenham are a top-class team, but we earned a decent point against them at Wembley earlier this season.

“We just have to stick together on Saturday. They are coming to our ground, so we need to make it difficult for them to get a win.”
