Taylor: We deserved a point
21st September
Neil Taylor felt the Swans deserved a share of the points after suffering their first home defeat of the season against Southampton.
The Saints sealed all three points at the Liberty thanks to substitute Victor Wanyama's late strike.
The Swans were reduced to ten men before half time as Wilfried Bony saw red for two bookable offences, while Wayne Routledge and Ashley Williams both went close.
But Southampton turned the screw in the second period and struck the winner with ten minutes to play.
"It was tough to swallow," said Taylor. "It was one of those where we were under the cosh for a large period of the game due to the circumstances.
"But even though we were under pressure we still could have come away with a draw.
"We were disappointed with the sending off. We were on top at that point and looked like we might break the deadlock.
"We maybe should have scored one or two, but I thought that at 0-0 with 15 minutes to go we were comfortable.
"We can take heart from the game, but we must move on now."
