Tayls targets cup return

24th September

Neil Taylor is targeting a return action on Wednesday night as the Swans begin the defence of their Capital One Cup crown against Birmingham City (7.45pm).
The Wales left-back has been sidelined for the past month due to a haematoma (severe bruising and swelling) on his thigh following the Europa League first leg win over Romanian side Petrolul Ploiesti.
Taylor, who has featured twice for the Swans this season, is fit again in time for the trip to St Andrews as Michael Laudrup's side feature in the competition for the first time since winning it at Wembley last February.
The Great Dane could make changes for the clash with the Championship outfit as his side look to build momentum following a seven-day period which saw the Swans draw with Livepool before beating Valencia and Crystal Palace on the road.
And Taylor is hoping to be given the nod as he aims to build up match fitness.

"It has been a bit frustrating being sidelined, but I've managed to come back ahead slightly of what we expected," said the 24-year-old.
"I'm looking forward to getting back into the squad and getting some game-time. Hopefully I can do that against Birmingham.
"The results have been excellent in the time I've been sidelined. We have been lucky that it has been just myself and Pablo (Hernandez) out injured, but I'm back now and Pablo isn't too far away.
"The key thing to doing well in each game is having a fully fit squad with hungry players, and that is what we have got for the fixtures ahead.
"We know what it's like to lift a trophy, and we want to experience that again.
"We have a squad of 22 here and anyone can play in any competition, which is great for the manager.
"It's a chance to impress for whoever is selected and, more importantly, ensure that we progress to the next round.
"But it will be a difficult game. Birmingham are at home and they will be keen to knock a Premier League side out of the competition, so we will have to be up for this game just as we are for the Premier League and Europa League matches."
