Flynn Downes

Flynn Downes is handed his Swansea City debut as Russell Martin makes five changes for his first home game in charge against Sheffield United.

The midfielder – signed from Ipswich Town earlier this week – comes into the side, with Ryan Manning, Jamal Lowe, Jamie Paterson and Liam Cullen also handed starting roles.

Kyle Naughton, Yan Dhanda, Morgan Whittaker, Joel Piroe and Dan Williams are the players to miss out having started against Reading in midweek.

Naughton and Ryan Bennett are absent having picked up minor knocks, while Korey Smith and Liam Walsh also miss out through injury.

Steven Benda continues in goal for the Swans, with a back three of Ben Cabango, Brandon Cooper – making his first league start for the club - and Jake Bidwell ahead of him.

Joel Latibeaudiere and Manning will be the wing-backs, with Downes lining up alongside skipper Matt Grimes in the middle of the park.

Paterson will operate as the number 10, with Lowe and Cullen leading the line for the hosts.

The visitors name a strong side, with former Swansea striker Rhian Brewster handed a starting role, while Oli McBurnie is among the substitutes.
