Third straight victory for Swans Under-21s

22nd July

Swansea City Under-21s notched their third straight victory in pre-season with a narrow win over Hampton & Richmond Borough on Tuesday night.
Both sides had chances to open the scoring early on, with the Swans' Corey Francis proving to be a particular threat as he forced home keeper Milan Stojsavlijevic into a smart save.
Francis also struck the woodwork before Chris Llewellyn's side took a deserved lead on the stroke of half time, courtesy of a superb Henry Jones free kick from the edge of the box.
And it was the young Swans who doubled their lead after the break from the penalty spot.
After Alex Samuel was bundled over in the box, the striker picked himself up to slot past Stojsavljevic.
The keeper had to be at his best to stop James Loveridge from adding a third on 56 minutes, while Samuel was again denied soon after.
However, the hosts did manage to pull a goal back late on as David Cornell tripped Ben Harris in the box, and the Hampton man converted his spot kick to reduce the arrears.
