19th November

Swansea 1-0 Brighton
Division Three - Tuesday, 19 November 1996
The Swans made it three home wins in a row as Dave Penney's goal proved the difference against Brighton.
The result saw Swansea move up to 14th in the Third Division table, while Brighton were left rooted to the bottom of the Football League after a poor start to the campaign.
Brighton would eventually get themselves out of trouble, however, with the Seagulls ending the season one place above the drop zone as Hereford dropped into non-league.
Swansea, meanwhile, would go on to finish in the play-offs and after reaching the final they missed out on promotion following a last-gasp defeat against Northampton at Wembley.

SWANS: Freestone, Brown, Clode, Moreira, Edwards, Jones, Jenkins, Penney, Torpey, Coates.
