Time to deliver, says Olsson

Martin Olsson admits Swansea City must stand and deliver against Southampton tonight as they bid to preserve their Premier League status.

The Swans face the team who are directly above them in the top-flight table before welcoming Stoke City to the Liberty on Sunday.

Carlos Carvalhal's men have dropped to third-bottom on goal difference following last Saturday's 1-0 at Bournemouth, which left them without a win in seven top-flight games.

And Olsson is well aware that there is now little if any margin for error if the Swans are to retain their top-flight status.

“We have everything to play for in these two games and being at home is a big bonus,” said the left-back.

“There are no excuses for us – we must deliver.

“The fans, of course, will be massive for the team, but the players must put in two performances to get the results that will guarantee us Premier League football next season.

“This club has worked hard to get into the Premier League and also to stay in it, so we must give everything to ensure our fans are watching Premier League football next season.”
