Trundle promises top tricks at SwansAid charity match

5th February

Swansea City legend Lee Trundle has promised to roll out his top tricks as he wears his Magic Daps once again for this year's SwansAid football match.

Trundle, who scored 91 goals for the Swans in 194 appearances spanning two separate spells, will be running out at the Liberty in May to help raise money for local charities.

Currently the Swans' club ambassador, Trundle stole the show in last year's event, which saw Adam Woodyatt and co overcome Danny Dyer's side 14-12 in a game which raised £55,000 for SwansAid.

And he can't wait to be strutting his stuff once again at the ground which he scored some scintillating goals and produced some breathtaking moments.

"I can promise the fans there will be plenty of tricks from me - I scored four last year and I am hoping to beat that this year," beamed Trundle.

"Last year was brilliant. The fans were great, it was an amazing experience for everyone involved and it was nice for me to get back scoring at the Liberty.

"I love it, especially playing in front of a crowd. When you finish playing that is what you miss the most - the fans gave me a great reception here last year and it brought back a lot of good memories."

Now Trundle is looking forward to this year's match in May, with Woodyatt also returning alongside the likes of fellow soap stars Jake Wood and Dan Osbourne.

He added: "Even if you are not a massive football fan, it is a fun family day to be involved with, full of entertainment, it is not just a game of football there will be something for everyone.

"There were over 10,500 fans here last year, which was a great turn-out but we are hoping to beat that this year, making it bigger and better than ever.

"There are some big Welsh stars - not just in football - who are keen to sign-up and get involved. I think fans will love some of the names who will be announced throughout February."
