Trust up the pace at half marathon

29th June

The Swans Community Trust upped the pace on Sunday as a dedicated team of runners completed the JCP Swansea Half Marathon in aid of the club's charity.
The group, made up of club and Community Trust staff as well as fans, put their best foot forward to run the 13.1 mile course, with each pledging to raise £100.
Now in its third year, the race attracted 8,000 runners with the Community Trust named as the event's official community charity.

The money raised will go towards helping the Swans' official charity to continue to deliver its range of health, education and youth engagement projects, all aiming to improve the lives of people within our local communities.
Swans marketing manager Hannah Eames, who completed the race with colleagues, said: "On behalf of the club, I'd like to thank all the runners who completed the marathon in aid of the Community Trust. It was a great achievement and I'm incredibly proud of everyone who ran it with us."
Wayne Walkley, who ran on behalf of the Community Trust, added: "I feel a real sense of achievement. I felt quite proud and emotional crossing the finish line knowing that I've raised money for such a worthwhile cause. It makes you feel all the hard work has paid off."
