Under-21s beat Merthyr in friendly

30th July

Swansea City Under-21s continued their recent fine form with a 3-2 win over Merthyr Town on Tuesday.
Chris Llewellyn's young side produced a good performance last Sunday to secure a 1-1 draw with Norwich, and picked up another victory against the Martyrs at Penydarren Park.
The visitors started brightly and took a deserved lead as Connor Roberts's strike was deflected past the stranded goalkeeper.
However, the youngsters found themselves 2-1 down at the break as former Swans player Kerry Morgan netted from the penalty spot before setting up Ian Traylor to give the home side the lead.
But Owain Jones levelled the scores in the second period with a neat finish from six yards out before Alex Samuel grabbed the winner late on.
The Under-21s now face a trip to Exeter on Friday (3pm) before two games in two days against Staines Town (August 5) and Afan Lido (August 6).
