Under-23s discover PL Cup opponents

20th August

Swansea City Under-23s will face Wolverhampton Wanderers and Hull City in the group stage of this season’s Premier League Cup.

The young Swans will also be joined in Group E be either Southend United or Oxford United, as they aim to go one better this year having reached the final of the 2017-18 competition.

The development side were just a penalty shootout away from successfully defending the title they won in 2017 – beating Reading 2-0 in the final – but succumbed to Aston Villa at the Liberty Stadium.

The group stage will involve eight groups of four clubs, with each team playing their opposing clubs home and away.

The top two teams advance to the knockout stage, where all ties will be one-off matches decided by extra-time and penalties if level after 90 minutes.

The dates of this season's games are yet to be confirmed.
