Victory was for the fans, says Amat

2nd May

Jordi Amat dedicated Swansea City's 3-1 win over Liverpool to the Jack Army, insisting: "That was for you."
Francesco Guidolin's side moved up to 13th in the table following their latest victory courtesy of an Andre Ayew brace and another from Jack Cork.
The Swans bounced back from defeats on the road at Newcastle United and Leicester City, and Amat felt the team owed the fans something after those losses.

"We know we needed to play better and that our mentality had to be right and we delivered it," said the Spanish centre-back.
"I think our mentality was perfect from the first minute to the end.
"All our fans saw a better team performance from us today.
"I hope the win makes up for the last two games. We owed the fans a performance and result.
"Our fans are like having another player on the pitch with us. Everyone is happy after the win. We need to make sure we keep doing this every week."
Amat was one of two changes made by Guidolin for Sunday's clash with the Reds.
The 24-year-old made his third league start of the campaign as he lined up alongside skipper Ashley Williams in the heart of defence.
And he was satisfied with his performance as he helped keep Liverpool at bay for the majority of the game.

"I am always ready to play and I am so happy to have played a part in helping the team to our win," he added.
"We played a very good game - it was a fantastic result.
"All the team delivered a performance and we deserved the win.
"I think we played very well in the first half and managed to keep the ball during the second half.
"We need to keep going - we have two games left.
"We will aim to pick up as many points as possible and finish the season in a positive fashion.
"We have two big games left. We are a strong team and we know we can do it with good performances."
