Vital statistics: Millwall

Swansea City chalked up a memorable victory at Millwall this weekend despite being a man down and a goal behind at The Den.

We check out the key numbers after the Swans’ thrilling 2-1 success.

7 – The Swans have taken seven points from three away league games under Graham Potter after the Millwall win. They banked a total of 12 points from their 19 away fixtures throughout last season.

2 – Having beaten Sheffield United and Millwall, the Swans have already matched last season’s total of two league away victories.

3 – Courtney Baker-Richardson’s early red card left the Swans with a mountain climb at Millwall, but they have previous for getting a result when down to 10 men. In fact, this was the third time in a row the Swans have avoided defeat when having a man sent off, following last season’s draws at Huddersfield (Jordan Ayew) and Wolves (Leroy Fer).

33 – The last time the Swans had a player sent off and lost was 33 months ago, when Kyle Naughton was controversially dismissed in a 4-2 Premier League defeat to Sunderland at the Liberty.

37 – Naughton had a much happier time this weekend, of course, as he netted for the first time in 37 league games. His only other Swans league goal came in that crucial win at Sunderland in May 2016.

5 – The Swans are one of only five Championship teams who are yet to lose on the road in the league this season.

4 – Oli McBurnie has scored four times in six league games this term. Only Brentford’s Neal Maupay and Bristol City forward Andreas Weimann, with five goals apiece, have scored more.

8 – Baker-Richardson may have had a day to forget, but he became the eighth player to make his league debut for the Swans this on Saturday. A suspension will follow, but he will hope for more league appearances – and some happier times – in the months ahead.
