Vitor Matos | We need to make sure we take points from these performances
Swansea City head coach Vitor Matos felt his side had produced a positive performance at league leaders Coventry City, but admits they need to start picking up points to go with their improving showings.
The Swans were beaten 1-0 by the team at the summit of the Championship standings, as Ephron Mason-Clark's goal from a long throw just before half-time proved the difference.
That goal came at the end of an opening half where the Swans enjoyed the better of proceedings, particularly during an opening half-hour where a Coventry side seeking an eighth home win in a row were unable to muster a single shot on goal.
The visitors also had a big chance through Zan Vipotnik, while Melker Widell and Liam Cullen were unable to take inviting opportunities after the break.
Just as had been the case at Stoke, Matos was pleased with a lot of what he saw from the Swans, but says they have to start making sure they come away with something to show for their efforts.
"I think there is plenty we can take from the performance," he said.
"But there are always things we can improve and one of those is how clinical we need to be in these situations, and we had this feeling against Stoke too.
"When you face a really good team like Coventry, who are top of the league, you need to make the most of your chances.
"We needed to keep dominating the game, and the goal came from a moment where we were not dominating the game and we need to do better in these periods because that is a key to getting the result.
"In the second half we came out well again and tried to create chances, and we can take something from the performance.
"There are no moral victories in football or in sport, so we can take the positives from the performance but we have to make sure we start to turn that into results."
