This week Swansea City have teamed up with Wales Air Ambulance, who will be at the Liberty for our clash against Reading on Saturday.

The lifesaving charity will be providing information on their services, as well as holding a bucket collection to raise much needed funds.

Launched on St David’s day 2001, Wales Air Ambulance is the official air ambulance service for Wales.

They provide air cover to relieve illness and injury wherever and whenever anybody in Wales needs it.

They are the only air ambulance charity based in and dedicated to Wales and rely entirely on donations to raise £6.5 million each year to keep the helicopters flying.

Wales Air Ambulance covers the whole of Wales every single day. Each year the helicopters attend around 2,500 missions, covering rural countryside, bustling towns and cities, along the Welsh coastline and across vast mountain ranges.

The four airbase operations in Caernarfon, Llanelli, Welshpool and Cardiff are ready to save lives wherever needed.

Wales Air Ambulance can be there for anyone in Wales within 20 minutes. But they don’t just fly patients to hospital – they take A&E directly to you.

Their critical care consultants and practitioners have some of the most pioneering equipment and skills in the world, including blood products and techniques developed in the British Army, meaning patients receive advanced care before they even reach the hospital.

The charity also runs the Children’s Wales Air Ambulance, a specialist division to provide expert care for some of Wales’ youngest patients.

Their crews airlift paediatric and neonatal patients to and from specialist hospitals across the UK, as well as providing vital air cover on emergency missions.

The charity is funded by the people of Wales, for the people of Wales. Find out more at:
