Jamal Lowe insists Swansea City will head into the Championship play-offs full of positive energy.

Steve Cooper’s side ended the season in fourth place following a final-day defeat to already-promoted Watford.

The Swans, who reached the play-off semi-finals last season after a sixth-placed finish, will look to go one better this time around as they take on Barnsley.

The first leg sees a trip to Oakwell on Monday, May 17 before the return match at the Liberty on Saturday, May 22.

And Lowe, who featured in every Championship fixture this season and scored 14 goals, revealed the squad will go into the games buoyed their efforts throughout the campaign.

“We wanted to win at Watford, but they got the result,” said the 26-year-old.

“Ultimately, it’s about how we played and I felt we put in a good performance that takes us into the play-offs.

“We finished fourth, which is higher than last season, which is a positive. Now we have potentially three games to take us into the Premier League, which is amazing.

“You write your name into history by scoring in big games or making a massive save or whatever your role is in the team.

“We all want to get this club back to the Premier League.”
