'We're confident we can survive'

Mike van der Hoorn believes Swansea City have the credentials to pull clear of danger as they battle against Premier League relegation.

Carlos Carvalhal’s men have 32 points – four ahead of 18th-placed Southampton – going into the final six games of the season.

And van der Hoorn is confident the Swans have what it takes to extend their stay in the Premier League.

However, he has insisted they must stay focused and not take anything for granted in their quest to secure safety.

“Our results have improved in recent weeks and we must play every game as if it’s a cup final,” he tells this weekend’s Jack Magazine. “If we keep getting points, it’s going to be easier for us to be safe.

“We don’t want to go to the last day because you never know what can happen. We want to grab points wherever we can, especially at home, and secure our safety as soon as possible.

“It’s so tight at the bottom, but we’re confident in our chances.”
