Young Swans battle to draw

30th January

Swansea City Under-21s battled to a 0-0 draw with Brentford in their latest Professional Development League 2 fixture.

In difficult playing conditions at Brentford's Training Ground, Kurtis March made his long awaited return from injury for the young Swans, while Jazz Richards made his first appearance for Kristian O'Leary's development side since returning from a loan spell with Huddersfield Town.

Against a physically strong Brentford side, the young Swans had the better of the first half chances as Rory Donnelly, Gwion Edwards and March all went close for O'Leary's side.

In the second-half, Oliver Davies pulled off a superb save to deny Brentford from taking the lead.

Meanwhile, it was a landmark moment for 16-year-old goalkeeper Lewis Thomas, who received his first call-up to the U21s squad for this afternoon's game.
