Yzzy Taylor delighted by ruthless Swansea City display

Swansea City Women head coach Yzzy Taylor expressed pride in the result and the ruthless attitude shown by her side in their emphatic 10-1 victory over Pontypridd United.
The Swans dominated the match and went into half-time with a commanding 6–0 lead, thanks to goals from Stacey John, Emily Richards, Steph Turner (2), Chloe Chivers and Aimee Deacon.
They went on to add another four goals in the second half through Emily Thomas, John, and a debut brace from 17-year-old Lowri Jones on her first senior appearance.
Taylor was not just pleased with the result, but also with how her side maintained their intensity and avoided complacency despite holding such a commanding lead early in the game, having led 4-0 inside 30 minutes.
“We are delighted. We knew what we needed in terms of when we are on the ball and what the expectations were, and I couldn’t be more proud of the performance they put in,” said Taylor.
“We asked them to be ruthless and bring that side to the game and I think they really did that.
“We spoke about what to expect in the second half and understanding that what we bring to the game cannot change.
“To go into half time 6-0 up was really positive but we wanted to challenge all the players in terms of what they can really bring to the game, and I am really happy they started the second half so positively.
“We have had two really strong performances and results over the last couple of weeks, but we know Briton Ferry will be a different game again next time out.
“We will sit down and review this game and look what to expect from the opposition and then hopefully we will be able to put in another strong performance.”
Taylor was also full of praise for debutant Jones after her brace, adding that the young forward had earned her chance through consistent performances in the age-grade set-up.
“It was a special moment for Lowri, I think when you have got such a young player who has done really well for our under-17s over the last couple of years and has then demonstrated that within the under-19s, you want to bring her into the senior environment. That is what we have done over the last month or so.
“She has really earned her spot and I am really over the moon for her that she was able to cap off a memorable day with two goals.”
