The aim of SwansAid is to support organisations that encourage young people, or those with disabilities, to increase their physical activity.

SwansAid has been giving grants to charities and community groups across South West Wales for four years, and to date, has distributed over £175,000 to these worthy winners.

SwansAid is administered by a panel of trustees who meet twice a year to consider applications and allocate the funds during Autumn and Spring rounds.

They also meet each summer to decide how the grant pot will look in the coming season.

During the Autumn round, the successful applicant will be awarded:

  • Two large grants of up to £5,000
  • Three small grants of up to £2,000

Meanwhile, the successful applicants during the Spring round will receive:

  • 14 sets of kit to sports organisations
  • Two large grants of up to £5,000

There are lots of applications to SwansAid and the panel want to make sure they are spreading the benefits as widely as possible.

So, one thing to be aware of is that organisations that have previously been awarded SwansAid funds should wait three years from their award before applying again.
