Swansea City winger Aimar Govea has put pen to paper on his first professional contract at the club.

The 17-year-old has enjoyed a fine season making the full-time step up to the club’s under-18s’ squad, and has signed a long-term deal in SA1.

Govea, the younger brother of former Swans Jordi, had been in the second year of his scholarship with the Swans.

His pace and trickery have caught the eye and he recently helped the under-18s reach the Professional Development League Cup final.

“All of us at the Academy are delighted to see Aimar earn his first professional contract,” said Swansea City academy manager Gavin Levey.

“Aimar is a bright young talent who has the ability to get supporters off their seats with his speed and skill.

“He’s still a lot to learn and Swansea City will provide both the environment and pathway to help maximise Aimar’s potential.”
