Alan Sheehan | To concede like that was incredibly disappointing
Head coach Alan Sheehan was “incredibly disappointed” to see his Swansea City side miss out on a third Championship win in four games after they conceded a 97th-minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Hull City.
The Swans had looked on course for all three points after Zan Vipotnik netted his fourth goal in four games with a fine first-half finish, while Ronald had put them back in front after Oli McBurnie had levelled for the Tigers.
But John Egan bundled in a last-gasp strike for the visitors following a scramble in the area, to ensure the spoils were shared.
“When you are ahead after nearly 97 minutes and you concede like that, it is just incredibly disappointing,” said Sheehan.
“We were not able to control as much of the second half as we would have liked, the game became a bit end-to-end and we got deeper and deeper.
“That meant the spaces got bigger as the game went on and we allowed them more chances today than we have over most of the season so far.
“The manner of it was disappointing, but I think you would have to say a point was a fair result.
“I think we were not quite like ourselves today, we allowed too many crosses into our box as a team.
“It’s something we have to work on and get better at with all the group here.”
